About Hyperion Marine Group
In 1976, Corning Townsend started CT Marine following a decade of hydrodynamic research at the model basins of the University of Michigan & Marin in the Netherlands. CT Marine built a globally recognized brand as the premier naval architecture and marine engineering firm specializing in shallow draft towboats and ocean-going ATB's. With nearly two thousand projects in their library & over forty million vessel operating hours.
To increase the depth of design services, CT Marine partnered with Buoyancy Consultants in 2015. Then in 2019 the two companies officially partnered under the brand, Hyperion Marine Group. “Hyperion” is the name given to the tallest known living tree. Named after the Greek Titan, Hyperion represents both the vision and strength of the founding members of HMG, who hold at their core the sacred and symbolic pledge to be the Hyperion of the maritime engineering and design industry.

Hyperion Marine Group has since grown to over a hundred engineers and designers, operating nearly 24 hours a day in several offices across the globe. We perform all marine engineering work, covering functional, detail, and production design.
